Marguerite Ruff aka “LadyMaya” is known for her sultry, soulful voice that would make hearts melt and wanting to hear more.
LadyMaya was raised by her grandmother who has given her a firm foundation in church, where she began to sing and honed her skills. She also sang throughout school and also played the clarinet. Marguerite was called upon to sing at weddings and funerals on several occasions over the years.
In 2012, LadyMaya was introduced to the R&B circuit and began performing open mic by her drummer, Uncle Russell “Peanut” Weekley, who started his own open mic. By participating in the open mic, many doors have been opened. LadyMaya has sung in several Timothy Whiteside, Sr. events as well as Joe Williams, just to name a couple. From there, she joined Arron Sisco aka “Old School,” “Family,” and “Grown Folks Entertainment.”
One of Marguerite’s dreams is to seek, inspire and touch the hearts of others. With the help and guidance of BCA Studio, she believes that through her music, she can achieve and reach many.
